Two things that keep bothering me about movies in the UK:

1. Before every movie there is a card that shows on screen to certify that X movie is indeed viewable to cinema audiences. It is has two spaces below which are meant to be signed by the head of the Board of Censors and the director of the film. Now Quentin whatsisname may very well be the head Censor. But who is David Cooke, and why does he sign his name instead of--oh, I don't know--the person who directed the damn movie? Peter Jackson was the only one who ever signed this weird but necessary document, and it made me love him even more. I mean, I know directors are busy, but it's this attention to detail that wins people over.

2. The audience leaving before the credits. RUDE. So many people worked hard to bring the movie out; if we liked it isn't it only common courtesy to sit through everyone's names? People who leave before the credits are rude, rude, RUDE.

Which is to say, I saw Order of the Phoenix. :D

It's too soon to give a coherent opinion, but....It was all kinds of AWESOME.

mahala! if you get upset over people leaving during credits you're going to be upset for the rest of your life! it's not that important. it's only rude if the filmmaker is in the audience. otherwise, it's not rude. People pay to be entertained, especially audiences watching something like Harry Potter, and once they're entertained, they have a right to leave. If people get up and leave during something like a theatre performance while the actors are taking their bows, that's rude.

maybe have a bit of a different perspective on it. For closing credits that I choose to stay for (I will definitely leave for whatever hollywood stuff), I see closing credits as the time for me to catch my breath a bit. For a very good film, it's my transition back into reality. It's MY time to just absorb. For films that don't touch me, I leave. Why sit? there's too much life to be lived.

Oh good! I'm hoping to watch it next weekend after the smoke clears. I expect everyone and their dog will be watching it this weekend. -_-;

Agreed re. people walking out during credits. Personally I like doing that but my folks don't. And they wonder why I don't like watching movies with them.
