I've heard of Arashi but I haven't heard them. My recs would be Bump of Chicken, Acidman and Garnet Crow...maybe you'd like J-rock better than J-pop? Like X Japan or Malice Mizer? Dir en Grey's good if you're into more hardcore stuff; I also love Gackt but he might be too melodramatic for you. Janne D'Arc (Janne da Arc? crap) and La'Cryma Christi are among the best of the more operatic J-rockers in my opinion.
