Richard Pryor is dead.

I grew up knowing him only for his silly movies and the tabloid hype about his addictions. I only discovered his real comedy genius recently. I listened to his stuff a lot; you can hear the future of Eddie Murphy (the real Eddie Murphy, the comedian, not the king of crap movies) and Chris Rock in his routines. He was greater than either of them will ever be. They would not exist if not for him.
